Janet Duke Primary School is an inclusive primary school that strives to support all children to reach their full potential. We make reasonable adjustments to our curriculum, teaching and to our learning environment to ensure the needs of our pupils are supported to help them achieve.
As a school we provide support for children in the following broad areas:
-Communication and interaction
-Cognition and learning
-Social, emotional and mental health
-Sensory and/or physical needs
The SEN Code of Practice (January 2015) sets out in Chapter 6.15 that:
'A pupil has SEN where their learning difficulty or disability calls for special educational provision, namely provision different from or additional to that normally available to pupils of the same age'.
